Dua Lipa has officially announced her engagement to British actor Callum Turner, describing it as “a really special feeling.”
The 29-year-old singer has been dating 35-year-old Turner for nearly a year and a half. Turner, originally from London, is well known for his roles in Fantastic Beasts and Masters of the Air. He also received a BAFTA nomination in 2020 for his performance in BBC One’s The Capture.
In an interview with British Vogue, Lipa confirmed, “Yeah, we’re engaged. It’s very exciting. Choosing to grow old together, to have a future, and just be best friends forever—it’s really special.”
Rumors about the engagement began during Christmas last year when Lipa posted photos wearing a ring. She shared that Turner designed the ring with help from her sister and closest friends.
“It’s so me,” she said. “It’s comforting to know that the person you’re going to spend your life with understands you so deeply.”
As for the wedding, the couple hasn’t set a date yet. Lipa explained that she’s currently on her world tour, which wraps up in Mexico this December, while Turner is busy filming.
Turner is also set to star in the Apple TV+ sci-fi series Neuromancer, based on the classic 1984 novel by William Gibson.
“We’re just enjoying this moment,” Lipa added. “I’ve never been someone who thought much about weddings or dreamed of being a bride. But now I find myself wondering, ‘What would I even wear?’”
The couple seems to be focused on enjoying their engagement and supporting each other’s busy careers before planning the next big step.
